Day #1
The waiting is over!
The 2023 Formula 1 season will be green-flagged in Bahrain this weekend – and we’re so excited to see an Admin By Request sponsored Kevin Magnussen behind the wheel of his mighty Haas F1 machine!
This is the track where Kevin made his famous ‘viking comeback’ last year, finishing 5th despite having been out of Formula 1 for more than a year.
“It’s the usual suspects at the front, but after that there’s a big group of teams where it’s very difficult to see where you are. It feels that high-speed is very strong in our new car and overall, it feels like a good car. It’s been a good job done by all the team and we’re ready for 2023,” says Kevin ahead of the weekend.
BONUS INFO: The Bahrain International Circuit has featured on Formula 1’s calendar since 2004 and the 5.412 km circuit is known for its lengthy full-throttle section, sweeping curves, interspersed with slow-speed tire-damaging traction zones.
The first of the weekend’s three practice sessions will begin on Friday, followed by qualifying Saturday. Sunday’s 57-lap Bahrain Grand Prix will take place beneath the lights at 18:00 local time (GMT +3).
Day #2
The first two practice sessions of the Bahrain GP was completed today with Kevin Magnussen finishing P5 in the first session, P16 in the second. Third session takes place tomorrow before the season’s first qualifying is green flagged!
Race Day
Update from Bahrain, where Kevin Magnussen finished P13 in the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship season opener Sunday evening.
It was a tricky race for the Danish Admin By Request sponsored driver, who made up a few positions after starting from a P17. Nevertheless, K-Mag was positive after the race, where the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team learned a lot about the new car.
“It wasn’t the weekend we dreamed of, but we learned a lot. I was pleasantly surprised with our race pace. We were struggling a lot in testing and on Friday with tire wear and in the race, it seemed like we made a step, which is positive. We have a long season ahead of us and will come back stronger,” said Kevin Magnussen.
Round two of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship will take place on the 17-19 March at Jeddah Street Circuit in Saudi Arabia.
