Day 1

JEDDAH 😎☀️

Is it already race weekend again? YES, IT IS! Round two of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship takes place this Saturday at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, and the preparations are underway. Our favorite driver and Admin By Request ambassador Kevin Magnussen is ready for another fight on the track – just one week after finishing 12th in the season opener in Bahrain, which provided reasons for optimism for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team.

“I’m a big fan of the Jeddah circuit, especially as we have been able to score points here the two last years. It’s a crazy track to drive, it’s exciting and exhilarating because it’s high-speed and at every apex, there’s just a white line before you hit a wall. It’s a street track that doesn’t get used throughout the year, so there’s also a lot of track evolution and it’s a night race with some sessions in the day, so that changes a lot,” said K-Mag.

DID YOU KNOW THAT … Kevin Magnussen finished ninth at Jeddah in 2022 and followed up with tenth position in 2023? This means that the Danish race ace has scores points in both of his appearances on the Saudi Arabian racetrack. With an average speed of 251km/h achieved during qualifying for the race in 2023, it’s the fastest track on the calendar!

Day 2

FIRE UP, DRIVERS 🔥🔥🔥

Ready for some Saturday night live action? Here’s a short pre-race update from Kevin Magnussen after qualifying P13 for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the lightning-fast Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

“It went better than expected I would say. The cold temperatures didn’t seem to help us so we were having to do a preparation lap, instead of just an out lap, then push. It looks like we were more exposed with the cold temperatures, which is a different situation than we’re used to, normally it’s the other way around. P13 for tomorrow is a decent starting position, it’s close to the points and I think we can fight for them,” said K-Mag.

Let’s give it a biiiiig push, Kevin!

Race Day

“It’s huge for the team” 🏁

No points for Kevin Magnussen at Jeddah, but thanks to the Dane’s efforts of holding competitors back and allowing team buddy Nico Hulkenberg to get a decent pit window, the American squad nevertheless succeeded as a team. While Kevin finished P12 after two hard penalties, the German ended P10 and earned MoneyGram Haas F1 Team their first championship point of the season.

“I showed good pace today but unfortunately, I also got two penalties, so that’s not a great day for me of course. But I think I made up for it with the effort in keeping everyone behind to create a gap for Nico to pit. He scored a point so that’s super important and right now, I’m not fighting for a championship, so the real fight is in the Constructors’ Championship,” said K-Mag after the race.

“I’m happy that we scored a point today. It’s huge for the team, we really earned it, and it’s positive that we have the pace – for a second race in a row we’ve shown that we can race. I’m really looking forward to continuing the fight.”

Well done, Kevin! We’re also looking forward to seeing you back in the car in Melbourne. The Australian Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, the 24th of March, on the Albert Park Circuit.
